When Liz looked up and saw who was standing just twelve feet away, she paniked and started to get her things together. Richie helped and said "Hey girl haven't seen you in a while, where have you been?" Liz smiled at hi and said "I was aat my aunt and uncle's rach in Tennessee. I'd never move to the city with gandma and grandad."
Liz's mind was racing while she introdused Richie to Collin. Richie took to getting the bags and started to haul them. "Rich I can get a couple" Liz said. Richie shook his head. "It's alright Liz. I've got 'em." Liz smiled and figured a woma had gotten a hold of him, since he was acting like a real gentleman. Richie was thr youngest and wildest of the three boys. When someone cleared their throat Liz got stiff. She knew who it was without turning around. There was no exscaping it. "Collin this is James, James this is my son Collin."

James saw the tension in Liz's eyes, like she couldn't stand to be near him, but she had the right. James had walked away before, but he had changed and he wanted to show her that. James is head of police in his small town. James would show her and make her want him again somehow. To James's surprise Liz introduced her son to him. "Hi Mr. James." Collind said.
James smiled. Liz had taught the boy manners, which James knew were very important to Liz. "Hi Collin. Call me James not Mr. James, it makes me sound old." Collin laughed, but Liz didn't look happy. "Hey Liz." James said sort of shly. He didn't want to make the woman mad by making her son laugh. James wanted to see her smile, that smile that make him fall in love with her all over again. James shook his head to get rid of the memory before it came.

Liz couldn't believe Collin had taken tight to James. It made her blood boil with anger. James led them to the truck where Richie was finished putting their luggage into the back. Liz and Collin sat in the back of the cab. She was lost and couldn't figure a way to get far from James. Liz always knew she would regret hiding who Collin's father was and now it was worse. She was in the same town as him and better yet the same vehicle.
Liz about groaned out loud, but caught it in her throat. It was a huge mess. A huge mess... is not what she needed right now. She looked up at the passing scenery and loved every part of it. Liz was glad to be back, but hated some memories that came with every passing second. One memory she loved was when she was around eight.
Liz was learning to ride on her grandma's favorite horse, Rocket. Liz would get Rocket to
trot or to turn and everyone would clap.
The memory made Liz smile, it was one of her favorites right after the day she met James. She shook her head as if she didn't want to remember that fateful day.
***
James couldn't stand it. The woman he loved was in the back seat of his brother's truck with a son! James just couldn't wrap his mind around it. He loved Liz, but she's probably with another man. The thought made him sick. Then James thought about her ring finger.
I didn't see a ring, but it could be in the shop.
James looked and saw no white ring where it would be if she had had a ring on not to long ago. He was hopeing that she was single, he wanted to show her that he had changed and had become every woman's dream or at least that's what Old Ella says. Everytime he sees her she says he should move on, but he would shake his head and say "There's only one woman who could have me." Ella wouldn't push to hard though.

Richie started conversation. He could tell there was a lot of tension in the cab and he probably should've told James Liz was coming back earlier, but he wanted the reunion to be a happy one. Whatever James had done to Liz was really hurt her.
